All HO car kits are now available as "Econo-Kits" denoted by "e" in the kit number.  "E-K" products include only items that are SMMW-generated or hard to get, such as resin castings, etchings, decals and instructions.  Parts produced by other manufacturers, such as brake gear, trucks, couplers, wire, steps/ladders and styrene strip are omitted.  The "E-K" option allows modelers to complete a kit using parts they already have or to replace kit parts to reflect personal preferences.
