The Leetonia Railway, a Pennsylvania logging outfit, operated a fleet of these unique cars to haul Hemlock bark to tanneries in the early 1900s. When the short bark harvesting season was over, the slatted bodies were removed so that Barnhart loaders could traverse the cars during logging operations. While no photos have surfaced, I suspect these bodies could haul pulpwood, too.
Body, rails and supports, and Russel sideframes are resin-printed. Evergreen styrene (provided) used to make diagonal braces. Bachmann wheelsets fit the Russel sideframes. "Bark chips" (tea leaves) not included but described in instructions. Bachmann log car not included. Price excludes shipping.
Kit No. 48n-F3 ... $29
